Doctor Who’s TARDIS on Google Street View

When the Google car mapped Short Earl’s Court Road, London, it caught the TARDIS, famous Doctor Who‘s time machine and spacecraft, which looks like a Police Box. Even better, the inside of the machine was shot also and it is possible to visit it, by clicking this link, then by using an unusual double-arrow.

Quand la Google car a parcouru Earl’s Court Road, à Londre, elle surpris le TARDIS, célèbre machine à voyager dans le temps et l’espace, aux allures de « Police Box », utilisée par le Doctor Who. Mieux encore, l’intérieur de l’engin a pu être photographié et il est possible de le visiter en cliquant sur ce lien puis en utilisant une inhabituelle double-flèche.

Actually, the inside of the TARDIS is a 3D representation of the control room in which it is possible to move. With this Easter Egg, Google Maps celebrated in 2013 the show’s 50th anniversary.

Anyway, a question remains : could it be the the first virtual LMF (local materialization of fiction) ever ?

En fait, l’intérieur du TARDIS montre une représentation 3D de la salle de contrôle au sein de laquelle il est possible de se déplacer. Avec cet « Easter egg », Google Maps a célébré en 2013 les 50 ans de la série.

Mais une question demeure : serait-ce la première virtuelle LMF (Matérialisation locale de la fiction)?
