In 2006,  Pan’s Labyrinth (dir. Guillermo del Toro) is released. The action takes place in Spain, in 1944, during the franquist period. The fascist army chases rebels hidden in the Spanish Maquis. The Captain Vidal (Sergi López), uses a map to organize the hunt.  He reads it with a magnifying glass and puts landmarks on it, which emphasizes his « magniaco-methodic » approach of the hunt (and of the war in general).

En 2006,  Guillermo del Toro présente le labyrinthe de Pan. En 1944, l’Espagne est aux mains de Franco dont l’armée traque la résistance réfugiée dans les campagnes. Le capitaine Vidal (Sergi López), sanguinaire commandant d’une unité franquiste, utilise une carte afin d’organiser le combat. Cette carte est associée à une loupe sur pieds et à de petits poids servant de points de repère, qui illustre son approche « maniaco-méthodique » du combat (et de la guerre en général).
