Lion est un film américano-britannico-australien réalisé par Garth Davis en 2016. Ce film raconte l’histoire vraie d’un enfant indien de 5 ans, Saroo, qui en 1986, après avoir perdu de vue son frère dans une gare, prit un train et alla jusqu’à Calcutta. Après avoir partagé la vie des enfants des rues à Calcultta, Saroo fut recueilli dans un orphelinat puis adopté par un couple d’australiens. Le personnage de la femme, Sue Brierley, est joué par l’actrice australienne Nicole Kidman. Devenu adulte, Saroo souhaita retrouver sa famille génétique en Inde. Il commença alors des recherches sur Internet en utilisant en particulier le programme Google Earth pour tenter de retrouver son village natal, Ganesh Talai, et sa famille, avec les rares souvenirs dont il disposait.
