The Sandmen (2000) is a French thriller movie directed by Pierre Salvadori and set in the 18th Arrondissement of Paris. When the film starts Alain (Serge Riaboukine) is giving a statement to the police. The scene ends with a shot of a map hang on the wall of the Police Station that shows the precinct. This shot is followed by a long flashback. After the story is told, the movie concludes with a scene located in the Police Station with a shot on the same map followed by a panoramic view of the city.

Thriller se déroulant dans le XVIII^ème arrondissement de Paris, le film débute par une scène montrant Alain (Serge Riaboukine) faisant une déposition dans un commissariat. La scène se finit par un plan d’une carte du quartier annonçant un flash-back. L’histoire est alors racontée et se conclut par la scène du commissariat du début du film où l’on retrouve la carte suivie d’un panoramique sur la ville.
